Dear Future Illini,

The Quad Cities Illini Club is pleased to announce we will be awarding one $500 scholarship to a student from the Quad City area who begins at the University of Illinois in Fall of 2012.  The 2012 scholarship competition is open to any graduating senior or community college student who will be attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the Fall of 2012. All applicants will be evaluated on the basis of need, community service, academic success, an essay and other criteria.

The COMPLETED application package should include:

1. Completed application form will be available at your High School offices in Spring of 2012.  For questions or if you can not find an application form at your school, please see contact details in the signature of this email.

2. One copy of high school transcript (may be sent directly from high school; 7th semester grades are acceptable--no need to wait for 8th semester);

3. Typed essay

APPLICATION DEADLINE April 15, 2012

The Scholarship Committee will not accept any applications postmarked after April 15, 2012.
The award will be announced in June 2012.

PLEASE DONATE TO THE SCHOLARSHIP FUND

-Checks need to be made payable to UIF (University of Illinois Foundation) in order to receive the tax deduction.  Scholarship donation checks need to be separate from checks written for dues to be eligible for tax deduction.  In order to process checks appropriately please write QCIC scholarship on the memo line.

-Checks that are received are then sent to the Alumni Association and deposited in the QCIC scholarship account.

-The Foundation will send a letter to the donor stating they received the donation for tax purposes.
