Group Game Watches - At Parkside Bar and Grill (2307 5th Ave - Moline):
2008 Basketball Game Watches  
  • January 14th.  7:00 vs Michigan.  Note: Tipoff is actually at 7:30, but we plan to have a club meeting for all members from 7 to 7:30.  Pizza will be provided by the club for the meeting and for the game.  You'll be responsible for your drinks.  We've had some low turnouts for the last 2 GameWatches and want to turn that around!  Plan to join for the meeting where we will discuss ideas for 2009 activities and then stay to enjoy the game vs the Wolverines.
  • February 18th.  6:00 vs Penn State.  No club meeting before the game, but we will still provide pizza for all who attend!
 
2008 Basketball Bus Trip 

We have secured 50 tickets to the Purdue game.  Plan to join us for a day trip to Champaign.

  • February 8th - Sunday.  12 noon tipoff.
  • Cost is $80 per person.  Includes ticket, bus ride, donuts/coffee/drinks for the ride down and a boxed lunch from Jimmy John's for the ride back.
  • We will depart at 8am from the KONE parking lots in Moline.  We should be back to the KONE lots about 6pm.
  • Email me at adam.judd1@gmail.com if interested.  Your spot will be reserved once your check is received.  Checks payable to Quad City Illini Club.  Mail checks to Adam Judd - 5487 Judge Road - Bettendorf, IA 52722.
  • We do need at least 40 in the group to insure we cover our costs - should we not hit this number, anyone who has already paid will get a 100% refund!
  • At this point, we are only selling full packages (Bus + ticket).  We must do this to cover our big fixed cost of renting the bus!

We will also be giving away two scholarships for incoming students to the university.  Details on scholarship tab.

Past Events:

2008 Highlights:

  • Grew our members list to over 400 people.
  • We gave two separate $1,000 scholarships to area students entering the U of I as freshmen.
  • We doubled the size of our annual football game trip growing from 50 people in 2007 to 100 people in 2008.
  • We had 3 club get togethers during the football season (Eastern Ill, Michigan and the bus trip to watch the Iowa game) and the Illini won all 3 games…Maybe we should've had more group events???
  • We threw out the first pitch at a Quad City River Bandits game.
  • Summer family picnic on a very hot June day!

 

Annual Dues:

  • We are keeping annual dues at the same level as 2008: $15 per person or $25 per family.
  • Either Steve, Mike or I are at any of the club events and will collect annual dues.  Also, you can mail a check payable to Quad City Illini Club to me (Adam Judd - 5487 Judge Road - Bettendorf, IA 52722).
